I always used to be afraid to ask for someone to give me their time. This was especially true for CEOs or high-level people I admired. I compared my life to theirs and often came to the conclusion that my life was not as valuable as theirs.
Having this mindset usually means you don’t reach out in the first place. It is likely that your time isn’t as valuable as the person you’re trying to talk to, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have any value to give. There is value in your story and in your curiosity about their story.
People are usually willing to give much more than you’re willing to ask for. Take a risk and send the message, you might be surprised at the response.
